Epka
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
Epka ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal TV and movie tracker available at
epka.app. This policy explains
what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Information we collect
-
Google account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive and
store your name, email address, profile picture, and a Google account identifier. We use
these solely to create and identify your account.
-
Your tracking data. The shows, movies, episodes, watch progress, ratings,
and lists you add while using the app.
-
Settings you provide. An optional
TMDB API key, your preferred language and region,
and — if you choose to connect it — a Plex access token and server details.
-
Push notification subscriptions. If you enable notifications, the
browser-provided push endpoint needed to deliver them.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To store and sync your tracking data across your devices.
- To fetch show and movie metadata and, if connected, check your Plex library.
- To send episode reminders if you opt in to push notifications.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-party services
The app relies on these services to function:
- Google Sign-In — authentication.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) and TVmaze — show and movie metadata.
- Plex — optional, only if you connect your account, to check library availability.
- Your browser's push service (e.g. Google, Apple, Mozilla) — optional, to deliver notifications.
Their handling of any data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Data storage and retention
Your data is stored on our server and kept for as long as your account exists. Session
cookies are used only to keep you signed in.
Your choices
You may disconnect Plex, disable notifications, or remove your TMDB key at any time from the
app's settings. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address
below.
